Long before the recent Wellerman Tiktok craze, the Cornish singers were arguably the first modern group to bring shanty singing back to the mainstream. Singing old sea songs together in their Port Isaac hometown since the mid-90s, the group unexpectedly signed a million-pound record deal with Universal in 2010 and were catapulted from their lives as fishermen and coastguards who loved to sing, into national folk music superstars.
