Why See Welsh National Opera - Cosi Fan Tutte?
What Does Love Teach You?
The Welsh National Opera sets out on tour once more, bringing an array of productions to audiences across the country. From classics like Cosi Fan Tutte and The Magic Flute to new commissions like Blaze of Glory! there is plenty to enjoy from the esteemed company as they continue their mission to prove the power of Opera can transform lives.
Don't miss Cosi Fan Tutte, or The School For Lovers, a 70s Sixth Form set production of Mozart's delightful coming-of-age tale from Max Hoehn.
What is the story?
Two Sisters, Fiordiligi and Dorabella are persistently wooed by a pair of strangers while their beloveds are away, but this is just a test of fidelity set up by their philosophizing teacher, Don Alfonso- the strangers are in fact their betrothed in disguise.
Guglielmo and Ferrando set out to seduce the other's partner in order to win the wager set before them by Alfonso. Over the course of the deception, the young couple's definition of love and certainty is thrown off-kilter, with their feelings revealed to us through Mozart's masterful score.
